The Cure at Perth Arena
SOWETO GOSPEL CHOIR, Perth Concert Hall
I have this book called 10 Songs that Changed the World, and I’m pretty sure Amazing Grace is in it. If not, it should be- especially when sung by the Soweto Gospel Choir.

CHRIS ISAAK. Kings Park & Botanic Gardens
I remember buying Forever Blue from a second hand CD store in Hurstville in my late teens and loving it so much. It was just like KD Lang’s Ingenue in some ways – really soulful, with not a single less than perfect track. Anyway we were really happy we went to see Chris Isaak at Kings Park. He sounded even better live than the already perfect CD, plus he was quite funny and down to earth too. Really loved the Elvis and Roy Orbison covers.
ANDY WARHOL & AI WEIWEI, National Gallery of Victoria. Part III
MARLON WILLIAMS. Perth International Art Festival, Chevron Gardens.
Went to the Chevron Festival Gardens for PIAF to see Marlon Williams. We got there late, so was standing room at the back. But still really worth it. The guy’s amazing. x
Went and and walked around Elizabeth Quay afterwards. Think adults have more fun on the playground there, even though they were built for kids… 🙂 x
GILLIAN WELCH. Perth Concert Hall
We went to see singer-songwriter Gillian Welch play with her guitarist husband David Rawlings at the Perth Concert Hall. Beautiful spare set full of stories and banter between the two. Quite lucky to be near the front as it was an intimate show. Apparently they were going to do a roadtrip in parts of Australia after the concerts was over. x
LION KING. Crown Theatre Perth
Lion King… We got tickets although, its a work night for us. Anyway when we got there every seat was sold out and theatre was packed.
Hakuna matata! 🙂
MEGAN WASHINGTON at Mojos Fremantle
Such a good cover of Rowland S. Howard’s Shiver, if a bit broken-up due to someone in the audience fainting.
This is probably my favourite version of the song now, even more than the original or Nick Cave’s version. 🙂
