We checked the newly opened Elizabeth Quay before heading to see Gillian Welch at the Perth Concert Hall. Looks amazing and happy to see the endless digging finally over and filled in 🙂
We went to see singer-songwriter Gillian Welch play with her guitarist husband David Rawlings at the Perth Concert Hall. Beautiful spare set full of stories and banter between the two. Quite lucky to be near the front as it was an intimate show. Apparently they were going to do a roadtrip in parts of Australia after the concerts was over. x
Lion King… We got tickets although, its a work night for us. Anyway when we got there every seat was sold out and theatre was packed.
Hakuna matata! 🙂
Such a good cover of Rowland S. Howard’s Shiver, if a bit broken-up due to someone in the audience fainting.
This is probably my favourite version of the song now, even more than the original or Nick Cave’s version. 🙂

The world really sux sometimes.
After catching the boat back to Melbourne and doing the Great Ocean Road, we decided to fly back to Sydney, before flying to Perth – just so can catch the Stanley Donwood/Radiohead show at Carriageworks. Longtime Radiohead fan here… 🙂
And to spend a little more time w/ family, before our move as well.
Gonna miss this city in many different ways….
There was a multi-track soundscape by Thom Yorke as well. Wish took a video… 🙁

Panic Office: Radiohead artist Stanley Donwood builds a shrine in Sydney
10 things* you should know about Radiohead artist Stanley Donwood
It was a little bit rainy so the weather was a bit cold & gloomy. We drove 3/4 of the way through the 200+ kilometres of road that makes up the Great Ocean road, winding through some pretty serious cliffs, ocean and rock formation. I think it’s one of the most stunning road trips to take in the country. I mean just look at this place…

Sidney Nolan’s Rainbow Serpent + Jannis Kounellis’s arte povera installation w/ coal, surrealist installation w/ knife & fish & deadly meat hook/rope noose installation 🙂 + a full metal head w/ electronics & video inside. MONA is brimming to the rafters w/ old & new art. Much has been said about it, but it is really a stunning museum – from the ferry journey to the descent via glass elevator drilled through the sandstone to the art pushing extremes. Not a bad working holiday 🙂
