Vienna Parreno is an artist, writer, early childhood eductor and most recently/importantly – a mom to two amazing humans and one four-legged canine. She writes about art and artists she loves and tries to make art projects when she can. Like many contemporary artists her work isn’t bound by media- but finds its form, dictated by the idea.
Through her blog and socials, Vienna shares her everyday with others, allowing her to sometimes create artworks on the run; blurring the boundaries between art and life. It is also her way of marking time, a public-private diary, shoring against the failures of memory.
Vienna’s work is a testament to the belief that art is not just a product but a process, an ongoing dialogue with the world around. Through her works, we see that art can be both a reflective and active force, intertwined with the fabric of domestic and professional life- like being that of an early childhood educator (which is a very creative profession). An artist statement she wrote many years ago can be found here:
