Fears & Descents

“Fears” is a modular installation made from hundreds of individual calligraphy brushes laboriously hand-painted and dipped in several layers of lacquer and resin to create a gleaming and tough surface. It is suspended from the ceiling using transparent gold hued fishing lines from varying heights. It was conceived by the artist during a residency in Beijing in late 2007.

Exhibition History:

This work has been exhibited at Gallery 4a – Asia Australia Art Centre (curated by Mr. Aaron Seeto) ย in 2008 and at the inaugural exhibition of a commercial gallery in Collins Street Melbourne (curated by Ms. Mikala Tai) in 2010.
